Who we are and what this policy covers

This policy applies only to the bilingual public J&R Technologies website at https://jrtechnologies.ca. It covers the pages describing J&R’s services, products and client work, together with the project inquiry form.

It does not govern work carried out for clients, the Kairos product or any website reached through an external link. Those activities and sites may have their own privacy terms.

Information the website may receive

The website does not offer user accounts, purchases, subscriptions or a newsletter. Its code does not deploy audience analytics, advertising or marketing trackers.

J&R Technologies receives what you write in the project inquiry form, when you choose to send it. The only other information associated with a visit is the limited technical information needed for normal website delivery, as described below.

How the project inquiry form works

The form is how a conversation with J&R starts. When you send it, your answers are checked, then delivered by email to J&R's inquiries mailbox. They are used to understand what you are asking for and to reply to you, and for nothing else: no mailing list, no advertising, no profiling.

The form is not an account, and this website has no database. Nothing you enter is stored here. What persists is the email itself, in J&R's mailbox, which is what a reply is written from.

Two automated checks run when you send the form: a hidden field that only automated tools fill in, and how long the form took to complete. Your connection's IP address is used at that moment to limit repeated submissions from the same place. It is not stored, not written to a log and not included in the email.

Technical information associated with website access

Operating a website requires routine technical request information to be processed by the hosting and infrastructure providers that deliver and protect it. That information supports delivery, troubleshooting and security; it is not used to build profiles of visitors.

Depending on the hosting and infrastructure configuration in place, it may include the following.

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address
  • Date and time of the request
  • Requested page or file
  • Browser, device and operating-system information
  • Referring page, when the browser provides it
  • Diagnostic and security events

Cookies, analytics and browser storage

The current site code does not set or read cookies and does not use localStorage or sessionStorage. Language is selected through the /fr or /en address, so no language cookie is used. Form answers stay in temporary page memory until you choose to send them.

Service providers

Delivering this website and this form involves a small number of providers acting on J&R's behalf: the hosting and infrastructure that serve the pages, an email delivery service that transmits an inquiry, and the email provider where J&R's mailbox is held.

They process the information only to perform that function. Some of them operate outside Quebec, which means an inquiry may be transmitted or stored outside the province. J&R Technologies chooses providers offering protection appropriate to the information involved.

Links to third-party websites

The website links to project and product websites and to professional profiles operated by third parties. Following one of those links takes you outside the J&R Technologies website.

J&R Technologies does not control those sites or their privacy practices. Their own policies apply to information they receive when you visit them.

Safeguards

Inquiries are transmitted over an encrypted connection. Every submission is checked again on the server rather than trusted from the browser, the number of submissions accepted from one connection is limited, and the credentials used to send mail exist only on the server - they are never part of anything the browser downloads.

Access to the mailbox that receives inquiries is protected by the account controls of J&R's email provider. Where technical request information is handled by hosting and infrastructure providers, access is limited to operational need.

No online system can be guaranteed completely secure, but J&R Technologies will take reasonable steps to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, use or disclosure.

Retention

An inquiry lives in J&R's mailbox for as long as the exchange it belongs to is useful, and is deleted when it no longer is. The website keeps no copy of its own, and the counters used to limit repeated submissions are held in memory only and disappear on their own.

Technical request information held by hosting and infrastructure providers is kept for the limited period those services need in order to deliver, troubleshoot and secure the site.

Any personal information later handled through the website will be kept only as long as reasonably needed for the stated purpose, legal obligations and legitimate security requirements. This policy is reviewed whenever that changes.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies and subject to its exceptions, you may make the following requests about personal information J&R Technologies holds about you. J&R may need to verify your identity before responding.

  • Ask whether J&R Technologies holds personal information about you
  • Request access to that information
  • Ask that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected
  • Withdraw consent where the law allows it
  • Ask how information has been used or disclosed
  • Raise a concern about J&R Technologies’ privacy practices

Changes to this policy

J&R Technologies may update this policy when the website, its data practices or applicable requirements change. The revised version will be posted on this page and the effective date above will be updated.
